LCD TV Prices Reportedly to Drop in 2007
Prices for large-size LCD TVs will continue to slide 25% in China this year since competition will become even more intense, according to the China Video Industry Association (CVIA), as quoted by the China-based ChinaByte.com.

The range of price reduction for 40- to 46-inch LCD TVs will be 30%, compared to 15% from 29-inch super-slim CRT TVs, the CVIA was cited as saying.

LCD TVs accounted for 10.6% of overall TV sales volume in China in 2006 with shipments of 3.8 million units. CRT TVs accounted for 87% of overall TV shipments since shipments of super-slim models jumped six times to 2.2 million units. PDP (plasma display panel) and rear-projection TV (RPTV) saw shipments of only 600,000 and 300,000 units in 2006, the CVIA was quoted as saying [DigiTimes News].
